The transition from high school to college is exciting—but it also comes with new expectations, responsibilities, and challenges. Join us for our annual webinar designed specifically for graduating seniors and their parents as we focus on what it really takes to thrive in year one. This session will highlight the essential soft skills that set students up for success in college—things like independence, time management, self-advocacy, and initiative. More importantly, we’ll go beyond theory and provide practical, actionable ways students can start building these skills now, before they step on campus. We’ll cover strategies such as:
-How to explore general education requirements and understand academic expectations
-Ways to begin engaging with a potential major (or explore if undecided)
-How to review a four-year curriculum and think ahead
-Identifying opportunities for enrichment—research, internships, campus resources
-Exploring clubs, activities, and ways to build community early
Parents will also walk away with clear guidance on how to support their student’s growing independence—what to do, what to avoid, and how to set the stage for a confident transition. Whether your student is feeling fully ready or still figuring things out, this session will provide a roadmap for making the most of the summer—and starting college with momentum. There will be a Q & A at the end. We hope you can join us!
