Kevin M.R. Mayne
Independent Educational Consultant
A student advocate and disruptive educational innovator, Kevin M.R. Mayne has been in the field of higher education for 36 years. In addition to his work as Independent Educational Consultant with Estrela Consulting, he recently was appointed Vice President for Enrollment Management at Landmark College in Brattleboro, VT, the premier institution for students who learn differently.
Prior to this, he served as the Senior Vice President of Helms College. In this capacity he was responsible for the day-to- day administrative oversight of the College’s enrollment management area, as well as the advancement, marketing, and volunteer services departments of Goodwill Industries of Middle Georgia and the CSRA.
Before joining Helms College and Goodwill, he served as the Vice President of Enrollment Management & Global Strategies at Becker College. In this position he oversaw the areas of admissions, registrar, and marketing, increasing the College’s enrollment and national visibility. He also chaired the College's Center for Global Citizenship program where he helped created the country’s first bachelor’s degree in global citizenship and also establishing the Yunus Centre for Social Business at Becker College.
Prior to Becker College, Kevin served as the Senior Vice President of Mitchell College in New London, CT. He was at Mitchell for 17 years and oversaw the areas of Enrollment Management, Marketing and Advancement (Admissions, Financial Aid, Public Relations, Alumni & Development). Under his leadership, the college’s enrollment more than doubled, fund raising reached an all-time high, and they were able to rebrand the institution to expand nationally. As a result of his commitment to working with at-risk students, he created Mitchell’s innovative PG Year program, Thames Academy.
Kevin earned both his B.A. (psychology/art therapy) and M.B.A. (management/marketing) from Anna Maria College, Paxton, MA. In addition he has completed advanced graduate studies earning certificates in the areas of training, leadership & curriculum design.
The winner of numerous national awards for his work in writing, publications design, and advertising, Kevin is a frequent guest lecturer and consultant in the areas of enrollment management, institutional branding, staff development/team building, learning disabilities and developmental education. He is the Past President of the Board of Directors for Learning Disabilities Worldwide, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the educational, professional, and personal outcomes for individuals with learning disabilities.
